Reverse Engraving is the oldest method of imposing a design in glass gilding. It was used exclusively in Roman times and was also the standard into the 14th-15th Century. The technique is similar to dry point etching or engraving method which engrave designs on the soft metal plates then print on a paper.
Reverse painting is quite a unique style of art and popular in China. The painting is actually painted on the back side of glass and when viewed from the front. This means that the artist must actually have the visual ability to paint back to front. It requires a lot more patience than other forms of painting. It also requires a lot of technical skills not necessarily needed by a traditional artist.
However, we often combine many ways in a full artwork. These techniques include engraving, painting, color-splashing, metal gilding. All of them depend on designs, customer requires, as well as using purpose.
In some moderation, we divide our products into three main kinds: Europe Fine Arts. Asia Fine Arts. Decorative Glasses.
Europe Fine Arts were made both Uncolored Reverse Engraving and Colored Reverse Engraving. We almost reproduce famous hand engraving collections for our Europe customers.
Asia Fine Arts were made mainly for our new branch "The Good Fortune Feng Shui Paintings". They used Colored Reverse Engraving technique.
Decorative Glasses were manufactured for Decoration Importers/Companies.

Uncolored Reverse Engraving is method which we do like tradition, using genuine 22K/23K gold leafs.
Colored Reverse Engravingis method which we do more complex. Before gilding, we have to paint colors by hand near like design. Then the copper leafs gild on the color. After that, engravers scratch thousands of lines scrupulously on the metal leafs. These lines were created harmoniously with color.
