Applications:
a) Used in lubricating oil, production of furfury1, pharmacy, etc.

d) As 5-Methyl Furfural. High value flavor compound.
e) Furfuryl Alcohol. C5 H6O2 Synonyms are FA, 2-Furanmethanol, furylcarbinol,
2-hydroxymethylfuran.
Usages:
Furfural used as solvent in petrochemical refining extract dienes (make synthetic rubber) from other hydrocarbons.
Furfural, its derivative furfuryl alcohol, by themselves or together with phenol, acetone, or urea to make solid resins. Such resins used in making fiberglass, aircraft components, and automotive brakes.
It is also widely use in food spicery and dye as antiseptic, disinfector, insecticide and rust remover.
